Meals on Wheels of Greeley and Weld County is looking for a Registered Dietitian Consultant.

RD shall provide the services of a qualified therapeutic dietitian to oversee meal program, commercial kitchen, and provide nutrition counseling to older adults in our community.

The RD’s responsibilities include:

  •  Serve as the nutrition/diet resource for the organization.

  • Plan and certify menus monthly with consultation with Kitchen Manager regarding menus and recipes. Analyze menus for nutrient content to meet requirements as prescribed. Review and approve menu substitutions requested. (Nutritional analysis software provided)

  •  Monitor compliance with food safety procedures and make appropriate recommendations.

  •  Provide food safety training every 6 months to all paid staff.

  • Conduct and document food safety and sanitation evaluations every 6 months.

  •  Prepare nutrition education materials to be distributed to clients on a monthly basis.

  • Prepare food safety educational materials to all clients and volunteers at least annually.

  • Develop protocols and provide nutrition counseling to clients

The RD shall:

  • Have a minimum of a baccalaureate degree. 

  • Maintain and provide copy of Registered Dietitian license. 

  • Maintain and provide proof of professional liability coverage. 

  • Pass a background and CAPS check. 

  • Work one day a week in office. 

  • Be on call for questions/consultations throughout week. 

  • Normal work week is 6-8 hours.

Program Coordination Specialist with the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Northern Colorado


Description:  This position is a 12-month, exempt staff position in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. Responsibilities include recruitment and maintenance of practice sites and preceptors, training and support of new and veteran preceptors, assisting with application processes including inquiry management, organization of application review committee and management of application portal sites, sitting on program committees, coaching interns on completion of rotation schedules, facilitating internship orientation, coordinating onboarding processes, and communication with faculty, students, interns, alumni, and community partners to contribute to growth, planning, and evaluation of programs. In addition, responsibilities include assistance with ACEND required data collection and record keeping for all accredited programs within the department as well as other duties specified by the Chair of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics.
